'Spamming'

What does 'Spamming' mean? i have heard lots of different ways spamming is used.
Please reply because i got a point for spamming, and im not the greatest at Computer terms, if you understand what im saying.

Im not very great at computer's either but one thing I know is that spamming
Is when someone, well never stops talking basically over the internet.
Like theres a subject in the forums and someone's said this subject over and over
it would be considered spamming, Like if the server was down and someone
kept saying the server is down, that would be considered a spam.
I dont know if I replied correctly but I guess someone whose more into
computers can give u a better deffinition.

Spam has two definitions.

1. Posting short, useless messages.
2. Posting tons of messages in a short amount of time.
